ADGM establishes Employment Affairs Office

5 July 2017, Abu Dhabi, UAE : Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM) has established a dedicated Employment Affairs office (EAO) to support employees and employers of ADGM registered entities in its financial free zone on Al Maryah Island, Abu Dhabi. The ADGM EAO is designed to promote stronger stakeholder liaison, provide guidance and bolster best standards in employment practice and related matters among entities operating on Al Maryah Island. The EAO, an integral component of ADGM is fully operational and in service with immediate effect.
For the EAO, ADGM has designed a detailed Employment Guide to help and enable ADGM registered entities to attract and retain the best talent. At the same time, ensure that ADGM entities and their employees have equal access to employment standards and clear understanding of the rights and obligations between employees and employers.
The EAO also developed a standard employment contract for use by ADGM registered entities to engage with their employees. The contract template sets out the minimum employment standards applicable in ADGM pursuant to ADGM Employment Regulations of 2015 (as amended).
A dedicated EAO section has also been established on the ADGM corporate website to provide users with efficient access to employment related regulations and information.
The EAO is part of ADGM’s commitment to foster international best practice and ongoing efforts to support human capital development and attract talent to Abu Dhabi.
