    • Hillary Rodham Clinton, Presidential Candidate, 67th US Secretary of State, Senator, First Lady, and Lawyer is set to participate in person in a moderated conversation during the event.
    • After last year’s inaugural edition that brought together over 2400 local and global participants, RESOLVE 2023 returns in March to provoke, challenge and encourage the local and international dispute resolution community to drive change for a sustainable future.
    • The discussion will focus on Sustainability, Web3 and AI, Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing (AML/CTF) and sanctions, as well as the evolving infrastructure of the UAE, which stand as the four main themes of RESOLVE 2023.

Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM) announces the return of Abu Dhabi’s flagship international dispute resolution forum, RESOLVE, to be held in ADGM on Monday, 6th March 2023. The one-day event will not only host the international dispute resolution community but also leaders from government, industry and academia in line with the national agenda in creating an effective environment for the region’s judiciary and competitive knowledge economy.

RESOLVE was established by ADGM Courts and the ADGM Arbitration Centre as part of their commitment and long-term thought leadership strategy to tackle the most challenging issues facing the industry and to continue to foster the ongoing success and prosperity of Abu Dhabi as a hub and preferred destination for dispute resolution for global businesses and investors. This year, RESOLVE will focus on four key themes: Sustainability; Web3 and AI; AML/CTF and sanctions; and the evolving infrastructure of the UAE.

ADGM is delighted to welcome to RESOLVE, Hillary Rodham Clinton, Presidential Candidate, 67th US Secretary of State, Senator, First Lady and Lawyer for a conversation on her life in the law and hopes for the future. Secretary Clinton committed nearly four decades of her career to public service and continues to devote her life to philanthropic work.

RESOLVE will also feature a keynote presentation focused on AI by Marcos Muller Habig - Acting Chief Executive Officer at 42 Abu Dhabi. Industry panellists include Miray Zaki - Managing Director at Gulf Capital, Umair Ullah - Director of Sustainability & International Development at PwC, Alexander Chehade - Executive Director and General Manager at Binance, Sureena Jassal - Corporate & Commercial Legal Counsel at e&, Emmanuel Givanakis – CEO of ADGM Financial Services Regulatory Authority, Robert Lewsley - Regional Head, Disputes and Government Investigations Legal, AME at Standard Chartered Bank, Mariam AlQubaisi - Head of Sustainability & Business Excellence, Etihad Airways, Iryna Telychko - General Legal Counsel, Etihad Rail and many more.

H.E Ahmed Jasim Al Zaabi, Chairman of ADGM said: “The objective of RESOLVE 2023 is to address the most pressing global issues facing governments and industries today and delve into ways in which the legal profession can seize opportunities to make a meaningful impact on the most innovative and effective resolution of disputes arising from those issues. We have witnessed a paradigm shift where the containment of disputes is a strong focus for international trade and investment. Given the constant upheaval that the world now faces, it is our role as leaders in the legal industry to think big and be bold for our clients. RESOLVE is a platform for global heavy hitters to provoke, challenge and encourage the industry to drive change for a sustainable future.”

On the day, delegates will also be given a glimpse of technology innovation driven by ADGM. ADGM Courts recently announced the first-ever blockchain technology to be used in the global enforcement of commercial judgments. This unique solution publishes judgments to the blockchain, enabling enforcing commercial courts to verify the authenticity of judgments, revolutionising every aspect of the enforcement process. The ADGM Arbitration Centre is also developing the world’s first “mediation in the metaverse” service which reimagines the delivery of mediation across the globe.
